Founded from the 2008 Ron Paul Presidential Campaign, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is the nation’s largest pro-liberty youth movement, building a powerful network of activists to transform states into beacons of freedom.
We utilize a 3 step “Build – Elect – Pass” model to drive real change in America’s political system:
1. Build: We are building the largest nationwide movement of committed youth activists on American college campuses. We have chapters established on over 500 campuses and with over 327,000 students on campus.
2. Elect: Mobilize our base of committed youth activists to be the grassroots muscle on campaigns of principled liberty legislators through Operation Win at the Door. Since 2018, we’ve built a coalition of 400 active legislators in our National Liberty Legislator Coalition.
3. Pass: Use this coalition of principled liberty legislators to pass transformative policy at the state level. This coalition has already passed over 750 liberty bills spanning from Universal School Choice, to Constitutional Carry, to major tax cuts and so much more. Compensation: The specific offer amount will reflect what we believe is value provided based on the qualifications of the applicant, but greener applicants should be encouraged by the fact that there is a high ceiling for long term development in this role. I included a range in the below breakdowns, but remember it will reflect individual qualifications. YAL is more than willing to pay above market rates for those with a track record of success in their relative roles.
Rundown of the open roles:
Director of Growth Marketing
Role: Oversee all top of funnel donor acquisition marketing. Identify target audiences; review, approve, and then deploy creative; and track results. Run multichannel campaigns with direct mail, display/video ads, email, and text focused on adding first time donors.
You have one mission: grow YAL’s donor base.
Pay Range: $70,000 – $140,000
Major Gifts Officer
Role: This role is focused on meeting with high capacity YAL supporters, giving updates, reporting on YAL’s impact, asking for a major gift, and the processes of securing/closing that gift. A great benefit of this role is building relationships with some of the most successful, generous, interesting, and caring people in America.
This role is travel intensive, expect at least 40% of time on the road meeting face to face with supporters.
Pay Range: $80,000 – $150,000
Senior Copywriter
Role: This is a high creative role, focused on crafting high-quality donor communication via all platforms: direct mail, email, text, proposals, website, etc. We are looking for individuals that have communicated to both high-dollar and direct response fundraising audiences.
This role will work closely with the Director of Growth Marketing, the Lead Creative Designer, and the Founder & CEO to capture Jeff Frazee’s voice in our communications.
Pay Range: $60,000 – $120,000
Lead Creative Designer
Role: The Lead Creative Designer will oversee all graphic design produced for YAL. A keen eye and creative ability are necessary for this role. Graphic design experience is required and will be most of these roles day-to-day, but there may be times when outside contractors are added as well, managed by the Lead Creative Designer.
This role will oversee all of YAL’s design and brand.
Pay Range: $60,000 – $100,000
Director of Development Tours
Role: This role will manage 6-12 the Development Associates and is focused on setting in-person meetings with high capacity YAL supporters with the Major Gifts offer. A skillset in sales management, CRM (Hubspot), spreadsheets, and writing phone scripts will all be useful. Using Direct Mail, phone calls, text, email, and any other creative approaches to set meetings is encouraged.
Managing the people, the system, and tracking the results is the primary purpose of this role.
Pay Range: $60,000 – $85,000
Development Associate
Role: This is an entry level position looking to train people who are passionate about the ideas of liberty and looking for their first stepping stone into professional fundraising. I am looking to hire 6-12 of these positions to fill a full team. The day-to-day will focus on scheduling meetings for the Major Gift Officer, diving into donor research, and making lots of phone calls to supporters for updates, reports, and requests for renewed giving.
This is a fully remote, part-time, and temporary position with the goal of giving you the skills and experience you need to kick off your fundraising career.
Pay: $1,000 a month
Timeline
This program will run from May 27th-August 22nd.
All contracts will expire after August 22nd.
Training
There will be 1 week of in person training from May 27th-August 30th which will be located at the YAL HQ in Austin, Texas.
After that week of training, this is a remote position, but will have continuous training and mentorship programs in place throughout the mentorship.
